In recent
years my Portfolio Management roles have largely been across:
- Client focussed Portfolios.
- Commercially focussed Portfolios.
Typically
my role in a Client focussed Portfolio entails the design, balance and/or
implementation of a given Portfolio. When asked by a Client to design and
balance a Portfolio I have on many occasions collaboratively developed the
decision making tools and processes in order to support the strategic goals of
an organisation.
Recent
examples include:
- A major construction company in which the Portfolios ranged from
$40,000 to $1 Billion+ in value.
- A major utilities provider with a M$960 Portfolio of Projects and
Programs.
- Several Local and State Government Councils, Authorities and
Agencies.
- A major international Media organisation.
Through
the customised implementation of internationally accepted principles of Best
Practice each of these Clients have:
- Implemented robust and standardised decision making processes.
- Ensured that the Executives can justify every Project selection
and prioritisation decision.
- Implemented the tools and organisational capability to change and
balance the Portfolios on an ongoing basis.
- Ultimately, transformed Strategic Plans into tangible results.
While
supporting the successful implementation of Portfolio Management with my
Clients constitutes most of my Portfolio Management work, several leadership
roles with my employers and industry bodies have also rounded out the more
overtly commercial side of Portfolio Management.
This page outlines
my more recent leadership and Portfolio Management roles within various
industry bodies.
Throughout
the years I have also been asked to establish, manage and control “internal”
Portfolios, including:
- Project and Program Management organisational capability.
- Business Analysis.
- Professional Services Product Development.
Throughout
my Portfolio Management delivery and consulting roles my core focus has always
been to implement the Strategic Goals in a robust and defendable fashion, to
deliver the intended benefits. Click here to
